Notion Bookmark Organizer

Right here, I’ll explain how the free Notion template "AI Bookmark Organizer 🔮" works, which I created and which you can find in the shop.

Introduction

“What was the name of that site again…”

This template lets you build a long-term directory of favorite sites where it is pleasant and efficient to search by category or by need.

The AI 🔮 will automatically fill in information for you when you add a site. Use it to start your own list 🫡

By default, the page is filled with my favorites ⭐️ for design and more.

Result after setup:

With “Save to Notion” extension

Since the start of this list in March 2022, I’ve used it a thousand times and added a hundred sites.

April 2026 : Improved AI autofill prompts for better results as Notion AI evolves. The template now identifies the main site from the URL and updates automatically when the URL is changed.
January 2025 : Added a tutorial for using an extension to create favorites with one click.
September 2024 : Added Notion AI.

Create your own list

You can start your list from mine. To copy the page, use the “Duplicate” button and the page will be added to your Notion workspace.

Create your own list

The template includes a dedicated setup page with all AI Autofill prompts and configuration instructions.

Template description

Add a favorite
  1. With Save to Notion (recommended)

To create a favorite page in one click with the title, URL, and a screenshot, use the Chrome extension Save to Notion.

The name of the database to use is “Database (Favorites Directory 🔮)”.

  1. Manually

Click the “Add a site” button, then fill in the fields for the new page.

Search and navigation

Search works on all information: site name, categories, description, URL, etc. It is available in two places. In the header at the top of the site (Ctrl + K shortcut) or when hovering over the database.

The tiles show the site’s summarized information.

A filtering menu is available to categorize sites according to their uses.

A site page

The key details captured for each site include:

  • Title: The site’s name.

  • URL: The website link.

  • Tags 🔮: AI-generated categories for the site, useful for filters.

  • Keywords 🔮: AI-generated three to four-word descriptions of the site. These help with categorization and display a short description in the gallery view. Results are convincing.

  • Summary 🔮: AI-generated three to four-sentence description of the site. This adds context if you’ve forgotten the purpose of the site. It also indicates if the site is paid, the creator’s name, their nationality, and the year of creation.

  • Creation Date: Automatically populated by Notion, useful for sorting.

  • Favorites ⭐️: Highlights the best resources.

  • Screenshot 🏞️: Visual identification of the site.

Why this project?

The design world is overflowing with new tools: templates, sites, software, plugins, etc. It’s not always easy to keep up with or remember the good resources.

My favorites were overflowing and I needed a solution to organize them and keep them for the long term.

Creation process

I used browser favorites, but it was a pain 😬: hard to find, no search, and a maze to navigate to reach the right link (hello Accot-Zhai Steering Law).

The first attempt was to create a Google Drive list to make collaboration with other designers easier.
Although the Google Drive document offered a table of contents and a search function (CTRL+F), it also had its drawbacks: the layout wasn’t suited to the screen size, loading was slow, the visual aspect was messy, and adding new sites was difficult.

I also realized that favorites are very personal to me. I didn’t want to discover sites, but to find sites again. A shared editable list didn’t work.

I finally found the ideal tool: Notion 🤗. It offers filtering, layout, and search features while remaining simple to edit. It’s a good compromise between the time needed to add a favorite and the result achieved.

🪐 Note that Notion also allows collaboration if you ever want to build a list with other people.
